Research and Development

Gallium-68 (68Ga) is one of the most important radionuclide for PET imaging studies. It is usually obtained in small amounts (less than 50 mCi) using commercial generators, which can only produce maximum 2-3 patient doses per production. Inn 2016, NCM developed a patented proprietary method (based on cyclotron and solid target technology) for the production of Ga-68 in large quantities (3000 – 4000 mCi). Over the next 2-3 years, NCM plans to evaluate a number of Ga-68 labeled peptides and/or small molecules for molecular PET imaging studies. Cyclotron produced Ga-68 will provide a more practical and convenient alternative to generator produced
Ga-68.
